Mask of Lies

It was a normal day.
She was looking for another game to play,
With someones life and heart.
When suddenly a strange boy gave her a start.

"Who are you,
To make them come unglued?
Who are you to carve their minds,
With all your stupid lies?
You think your power will last forever but that's not so.
One cold day you'll find you're all alone.

Who gave you the authority to drive them to the brink of suicide,
And hate all they are inside?
Who told you that you can twist their heart strings,
Around your fingers and enjoy the pain it brings?
Who gave you the right?
You are nothing without your mask of lies."

He looked at her and he wasn't afraid of her beauty.
As if he didn't care about her popularity. 
The words that fell from his lips caught her by surprise. 
As he looked at her with anger filled eyes.

"Who are you,

She stared at him in shock,
As he continued to talk.
They caught her in a way she'd never expected.
And something long since dead inside her began to be resurrected.
Her stone cold heart began to crack.
And the life still held within it started to lift itself from the black.

And as he spoke to her,
The world around her became a blur.
For the first time she realized all the broken dreams she'd created.
All the friends she'd separated.

And then he walked away from her without another glance.
Leaving her to think about the poisonous words she'd whispered whenever she'd had the chance.
As her defenses crumbled and she cried.
For the first time she saw her mask of lies.
